Tablet of Honor Award

The Kiwanis Club of State College presented the Kiwanis International Foundation
Tablet of Honor Award (The highest award given by Kiwanis) to Edwin Strong for
his outstanding service to Kiwanis. Pictured with him is his wife, Grace. Kevin

SCAHS Scholarship Awards

State College High School Scholarship Awards 2010
Kiwanis recognized 8 students for their activities during the past year at a dinner on June 7, 2010. These qualified State College High School students were selected by the school for scholarships for their achievement in academics and community activities.

YOUNG CHILDREN - PRIORITY ONE

The Kiwanis Club of State College continuies its ongoing annual program of "Young Children - Priority One".
This year 16 out of 23 local preschool agencies received grants in total of $6,010.00.
This program continues to increase each year since 2003 when 6 preschools received grants in total of $2,855.00.
The grants go hand-in-hand with and complement the Club's weekly activity of providing and reading a youth book at one of the many area pre-schools.

SPECIAL AWARD PRESENTED AT THE MARCH 15, 2010 MEETING

Award to Wm Nichole

William C. (Bill) Nichol receives the George F. Hixson Fellow Award. Making the presentation is Kevin Thomas,
Pennsylvania District Kiwanis Executive Director.
Lilly Nichol joined her husband for the recognition at a recent State College Kiwanis Club program.
Named after Kiwanis International's first president, the Hixson Award is one of Kiwanis's highest honors.
Membership is granted to those individuals who have made outstanding contributions
to the Kiwanis objective of changing the world one child and one community at a time.
